About Aaron

Aaron Stanford (born 27th December 1976 in Westford, Massachusetts) is an American actor best known for his roles as Pyro in X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, and Doug in the 2006 remake of The Hills Have Eyes. From 2010 to 2013, he starred as Birkhoff in Nikita.

I, like many others, first noticed Aaron as Pyro in the second and third X-Men films when I saw them for the first time in 2006. I fell in love with the character, and then began my obsession with Aaron and the other films he had starred in. I went on a huge Stanford binge for the several years after, trying to get my hands on things he had starred in, mostly independent dramas (Winter Solstice, Runaway) but a few quirky comedies, like Live Free or Die, Flakes and Rick. Oh, and who could forget the classic Tadpole, in which the 23-year-old Stanford played a 15-year-old who is in love with his step-mother? One of my favourite roles of his was Will Traveler in the TV-series Traveler. Unfortunately the series was cancelled after 8 episodes (after initially being reduced from 13!) and that was devastating. The creator, David DiGilio, wrote a long message for his fans after it ended, answering many questions and tying up loose ends. I have provided a link to that message for anybody interested. If you are able to get your hands on Traveler, I definitely recommend you do so, and not just for Aaron!

Aaron is a fantastic method actor, and the variety of the films or TV shows he has worked on demonstrates this. I have enjoyed every single thing I've seen him in and I like that he has starred in quite a few nondescript films that didn't get a lot of attention in Hollywood. He has always seemed very down to earth and unassuming, hence the name for the fanlisting. He is one of those actors you may not recognise in the street. He is able to work on some great projects without becoming 'too' famous, and I think he likes it that way. I look forward to seeing where he goes in the future. :)
